    Professional dishwashers, how do they work?

    Most dishwashers follow the same procedure, which can be broken down into seven distinct stages:

    • Water intake
      Before being fed into the dishwasher, the water is drawn from the mains and fills a special tank, usually located at the bottom of the appliance.
    • Heating the water
      The water in this tank is heated to a higher temperature by means of an electric heating element.
    • Adding detergent
      The detergent door opens and the product mixes with the water, forming a sanitising solution. This happens automatically during the correct washing stage, according to the timer or preset programme.
    • Dishwashing
      The detergent solution is conveyed into the spray arms, which, due to the pumping pressure, rotate and radiate the water with sufficient force to reach all the dishes.
    • Draining the dirty water through a special pump
    • Rinsing the dishes
      The water, which has been collected and heated, undergoes the same procedure as for washing but, this time, is sprayed without the addition of detergent. This operation removes any dirt residue and any traces of detergent still present on the dishes.
