Hollow ice cube makers are machines suitable for producing hollow ice in a short time and with a high cooling capacity. The hollow ice cubes inside are useful for quick cooling of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Features Hollow Ice Cube Producers

Among professional ice machines, hollow cube ice machines are a favourite in restaurants and pubs that serve predominantly cold drinks, such as white wines and cocktails.

The operation of these machines is simple: water flows through the machine until it fills to capacity; the refrigeration process then begins, with a thermostat gradually lowering the temperature to zero degrees.

Hollow ice cubes have a larger cooling surface, which allows liquids to cool rapidly. They are also smaller than the classic full ice cubes, an advantage for the space they would occupy inside a glass.

Hollow ice cube machines, the types

Hollow ice cube machines differ from each other by

capacity, ranging from a minimum of 10 kg to a maximum of 75 kg of ice;
water capacity, ranging from a minimum of 1 litre to a maximum of 10 litres; and
refrigeration time, usually in 24-hour cycles.

How to clean Hollow Cube Ice Makers

The ice machine should be cleaned when it is totally empty and switched off. If water is still present in the tank, it should be collected before cleaning. A simple, non-aggressive detergent is sufficient to clean the outside and the cube tank. The condensers, manifolds, injectors and filters should also be cleaned periodically.
